Our Story

We work to help you simplify your spaces to allow for more rest and peace in the home/space. Our goal is to help you reduce the time and energy it can take to find items and keep your spaces safe, clean and organized. We will work with county and independent recycling services to keep your items out of the dump as well as partnering with local donation centers. Your trash can be someone else’s treasure! Sustainability is important to us and we commit to keeping as much plastic out of the process as possible!

Our Team

Lena Oyanagi

I’m Lena, the first heart behind The Restful Nest. I’m passionate about living intentionally—whether that means creating nourishing vegan meals, unrolling my yoga mat to find balance, or advocating for causes close to my heart.

My journey with chronic illness has taught me the true importance of rest, presence, and making mindful, small choices. This experience has been instrumental in shaping my compassion and worldview.

Through The Restful Nest, I bring together my love for wellness and organizing to help others create spaces that feel supportive, peaceful, and aligned with their values. My hope is that every space we touch becomes a place of comfort and renewal—a true sanctuary for the body and mind.

When I’m not helping others find calm in their spaces, you’ll likely find me enjoying time with my family, spending time outdoors, or soaking in a few quiet moments of stillness and gratitude.

Heidi Miller

I’m Heidi, the second heart behind The Restful Nest. I’ve always believed that creativity and care can transform not just what we see, but how we feel in our spaces.

As someone who spends her days encouraging students to explore their creativity, I bring that same sense of curiosity, balance, and artistry into my work at The Restful Nest. My background in art has taught me to see beauty in the details and to find harmony between form and function—a skill that translates naturally into creating calm, organized, and restorative home environments.

When I am not teaching or working on a new piece of art, you can usually find me in my garden, hunting for treasures in antique stores, lost in a Romantasy novel, or playing with my sweet boxer, Poppy.

Through The Restful Nest, I hope to help others—especially those navigating life with chronic illness like myself—find a sense of peace and comfort in their homes. Because everyone deserves a space that supports healing, rest, and the simple joy of being home.

Our Values

Accessibility & Compassion

We center the lived experiences of people with chronic illness and their families, creating spaces and systems that honor their real struggles. Easy tasks don't have to feel monumental when you have genuine support.

Sustainability & Environmental Stewardship

We are committed to protecting the planet through non-toxic practices, waste reduction, and circular economy principles—choosing reused and second-hand solutions over consumption.

Human-Centered Design

We partner with you, not for you. Every space, system, and solution is co-created to reflect your vision and values, ensuring lasting success and true ownership.

Social Justice & Equity

As a female-owned, anti-capitalist collective, we believe liberation means freedom from systems that exploit care work and marginalize vulnerable communities. We show up as advocates for human rights and radical equality.

Radical Rest & Healing

We believe that rest is resistance and that beautiful, functional spaces are acts of self-care and reclamation. Your home should be a sanctuary that supports your wellbeing and resilience.
